This is an initiative to inspire people to find ways in which they can slow down to make their lives more meaningful. Slowing down for us means to be as present as possible in the moment, to connect to ourselves and to open up to the impressions and feelings that arise in a given situation. Slowing down can also mean to create a space to be more present for others, to listen to the fine nuances in a conversation and to deepen our relationships.
Slowing down can remind us of what we need, both physically and emotionally, and help us connect with our core values. It can help us to find our own direction in a busy world and focus the energy we need to learn, develop, connect, and create. Slowing down can also help us to be less reactive to others’ opinions and actions and to be more robust to experienced pressure from our surroundings.
Slowing down can be done in different ways, intentionally and spontaneously, both in our private as well as professional lives. It may be the instances where we remember to breathe, take the time to listen inwards and follow our intuition, and to feel connected to the people and nature around us. Slowing down can also be done through creating or listening to music, reading, writing or painting. Sometimes we may need to make more dedicated space to be able to slow down, as in guided movement, meditation, walks, mindfulness or writing.
Slowing down is both a personal and a professional ambition for us. We wish that this project with its site, its collaborators and its events can be a place of inspiration, comfort, and reflection.

INSPIRATION
Morningwalk
Are you attached to your wantings and longings?
This morning I noticed on my morningwalk how I was longing for inspiration. I wanted so much to be inspired to write something, something that could guide me through my day.
And I noticed how the mere wanting and longing got in the way of being present in the here and now.
There’s so much beauty all around me here in Hyde Park, so many different trees, varying textures of the ground and all these wonderful people going about their day. And not to mention the gorgeous Serpentine floating through the park and all the majestic monuments built by strong hands.
Only when I stopped and noticed how I was stuck in my attachment to being inspired could I return to the present and be truly inspired.
So easy and yet so hard. Sometimes.
